“ Yummy food, good drinks, and fun atmosphere! The service was great, especially considering it was poppin!! ”
“ I haven't been to Dallas in 9373844 years. So I was thrilled to go back! I was visiting my line sister and she was taking me to a few different eatery's and lounges. Our first stop was brunch. This place is cute, black owned and a little pricey. I got the catfish breakfast. The fish was fried to perfection- delicious and the potatoes were good, but a little salty. I also got a cocktail which was the Latimer. This little lightbulb frozen drink was cute & sweet but I didn't get a buzz at all. We share some fried pickles and those were fire. My sis got catfish and grits, she loved her food. Unfortunately I don't remember what cocktail she got. Overall , I would go back. The ambiance was welcoming and the music was great.! P.S. ALWAYS make a reservation and consider the parking downtown as well. ”
“ This was my first time visiting this restaurant. I've heard so much about it from several people. I must say it did not disappoint. The customer service was awesome! Although we had reservations and arrived early, they were still able to seat us. It is a bit pricey but the food and drinks were amazing! We also received a good portion of food. The music was a bit too loud to where we had to struggle to talk across the table, but I still love the vibe and energy. Don't worry I will definitely visit again! ”
“ The place was cute and less than one mile from the conv center so somewhat handy to get to when attending a conference. The food was great and it was a great conversation starter for someone who was visiting from outside the country. The service was slow, it took entirely too long to get our cocktails and 2/3 was wine. There is no wine list; just 3 options/varietals. Service continued to be slow and while all of us ordered salads none of them came early. Then sadly one of the entrees was incorrect and we had to wait on the correction. The eggs/shrimp were good- the blackened shrimp was excellent. The fried green tomatoes were undercooked but the grits and sauce were excellent. The short rib entrée was excellent but I skipped the cognac sauce and was glad I did. It was perfect without it. The salmon was very dry so I would avoid this one. The chicken/waffles was massive and be prepared to chose a (sweet) topping for your waffles and i would recommend getting it on the side as the sauces are voluminous. All in all I would return and try again while keeping in mind that the music is a bit loud and definitely leaning towards club/dance music. We dined 7:30-9p. ”
“ While in town, I decided to come here with some friends. It was extremely busy that night, we had reservation. We arrived at 9:15pm, and our reservations weren't until 9:30. Weren't seated until close to 10:45pm. Some of the information I gathered from the people that were waiting to be seated as well, was very informative. They told me for a better experience come during the middle of the week or early on the weekends. "Noted" Once inside it appeared they were starting to close for the night. The vibe was no way near what it appeared to be when I first arrived. I will say our server did not rush us she politely told us the bar and kitchen will be closing in 45mins. Even with that being said our Food and drinks were a 10/10 everything was cooked and flavored perfectly. ”
“ So I found myself back at this establishment because a close friend had a birthday gathering. This makes my 2nd visit at the Dallas location and a previous visit to the DC location. We arrived on time for a dinner reservation for a large party and were promptly seated. A vast change from my experience 3 years ago because even with a reservation the wait was well over an hour. We were taken upstairs and quickly met by our waitress for the evening. She was kind and offered thoughts on our questions about the menu. We received our drinks and appetizers shortly after. We then placed orders for entrees and they were brought out not long after as well. The food was brought out lukewarm which was a slight disappointment but again an improvement from my first visit. At any rate as I began tasting the various appetizers and entrees I noticed that the food is heavily salted which required lots of water as a follow up but I can also say the flavor was good outside of that. Overall this experience was a vast improvement and I'm giving them an extra star. Glad I had a much better experience. ”
“ If you have friends in town and you want to give them a mix of good drinks, good southern food, and good music. I recommend taking them to this black owned establishment in downtown dallas. Catfish - 10/10 Egg rolls -10/10 Jerk chicken 8/10 Salmon bites 7.5/10 Jerk chicken 8/10 Black eyed peas 8.5/10 The staff is attentive and are always checking to make sure you are having a good time. ”
“ Last night was my first dining experience at Kitchen + Kocktails, Dallas. It's such a lively scene and vibe. The food was absolutely delicious as was my Henessy Lemon Drop cocktail. For dinner, I opted for the catfish and collard greens. This was my first time in life paying a la carte at a soul food spot so I am still processing my emotions about it. I do believe that $30 is a reasonable cost for a protein and two sides but here, it comes out to be much more. Despite that, I am still giving a good rating for many reasons: 1.) The food is delicious and served piping hot 2.) The portions are large enough to split amongst two people, for cost efficiency 3.) The lively atmosphere 4.) Our server, Julius was THHHEEEE BEST! He quickly corrected any wrongs and brought the absolute best energy to the night. I will definitely return but do dining a bit differently. ”
“ I recently visited Kitchen and Kocktails for brunch, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. Our server, Millie, was exceptional--attentive, friendly, and prompt with our orders. They made sure we had everything we needed without hovering, which made the experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. The food was outstanding. The portions were generous, and each dish was flavorful and thoughtfully prepared. It's clear that a lot of care goes into the menu, and everything we tried was delicious. From the savory options to the sweet ones, there was something to satisfy every craving. The ambiance really added to the overall vibe of the place. It's lively, fun, and perfect for a brunch outing with friends or family. The atmosphere struck a great balance between casual and trendy, making it feel like the kind of spot you'd want to linger at. One surprise, however, was that they don't serve coffee, which was a bit unexpected for a brunch spot. While it didn't take away from the experience, it's something to note if you're a coffee lover looking for that morning pick-me-up. All in all, Kitchen and Kocktails is a great place to dine, offering delicious food, a fun atmosphere, and excellent service. I would definitely recommend it and will be back for another round soon! ”
